Content Repurposing for Coaches: Turn 1 Post Into 20 Pieces of Content
You're creating 20+ pieces of content per week. Instagram posts. LinkedIn articles. Email newsletters. Carousels. Reels. And you're exhausted.
I know because I did this for a year. Daily content on three platforms. And I was burning out fast.
Then I learned about repurposing. Create once. Distribute everywhere. And suddenly I was visible on five platforms while working half the time.
Here's the exact system.
The Pillar Content Approach
Every week, create one piece of long-form content. A 1,500-word blog post. A 10-minute YouTube video. A 20-minute podcast episode. A long LinkedIn article.
This is your pillar content. Everything else for the week comes from this one piece.
One piece of pillar content can become 20+ pieces of micro-content. Instagram posts. LinkedIn posts. Carousel slides. Email newsletters. Twitter threads. Reels.
You're not creating new ideas every day. You're repackaging one idea 20 different ways.
The Weekly System
Monday: Create your pillar content. Spend 2 hours. Record a video or write a post on your weekly topic.
Tuesday: First repurpose. Pull 5 powerful quotes from your pillar content. Turn each quote into a social media caption. Add 2-3 sentences of context. Schedule for Instagram and LinkedIn.
Wednesday: Second repurpose. Break down your main framework into a carousel. 8-10 slides. Post to Instagram.
Thursday: Email newsletter. Summarize your pillar content. Add one new insight. Send to your list.
Friday: Micro-content. Turn your key points into 5 tweets. Thread them together. Post to Twitter.
That's 5 Instagram posts, 5 LinkedIn posts, 1 carousel, 1 email, and 1 Twitter thread. From one piece of content. Total time: 5 hours for the week.
The Repurposing Templates
Here's how to transform your pillar content into different formats.
Quote Post: Pull a powerful line from your content. Add 2-3 sentences explaining what you mean. End with a CTA. "DM me [KEYWORD] for the full framework."
Framework Post: Extract your methodology from the pillar content. Give it a name. "My 3-Step Client Attraction Framework." List the steps. Add one example for each step.
Story Post: Take a story you told in your pillar content. Expand it slightly. Add more detail. Make it more visual. End with the lesson.
Stat Post: If you mentioned data in your pillar content, make that the focus. "40x ROI from email vs social media. Here's why." Then break down what that means.
Platform-Specific Adjustments
Instagram: Add line breaks. Use emojis. Make the first line a hook that stops the scroll. Keep it visual.
LinkedIn: More professional tone. Longer posts work (up to 1,300 characters). Lead with business insight instead of personal story.
Twitter: Break your idea into bite-sized thoughts. Use threads for longer concepts. More personality and humor.
Email: Most conversational tone. Add personal anecdotes not in your public content. Always end with an invitation to reply.
Same core idea. Different packaging for each platform.
The Content Bank
When you create pillar content, save everything.
Raw video footage. Transcripts. Pull quotes. Client results. Screenshots. Behind-the-scenes photos.
Store these in a folder. You'll reuse them for months.
That one client transformation story? You'll tell it 10 different ways on 10 different platforms. Each time reaching new people.
The Batching Strategy
Instead of creating content daily, batch everything.
One day per month, record 4 videos. That's your pillar content for the entire month.
One day per month, write 4 blog posts. Same thing.
Then spend 2 hours per week repurposing.
This approach is more efficient because you're in creation mode once instead of switching modes daily.
Record all 4 videos back-to-back. Your mind is in video mode. You're warmed up. Each video gets easier.
Then you're done for the month.
The 90-Day Content System
Month 1: Create 4 pillar pieces. Repurpose into 80 social posts.
Month 2: Repurpose Month 1 content with new angles. "Last month I shared X. Today I want to expand on that..."
Month 3: Update and reshare your best performers from Month 1. "I posted this 2 months ago and it resonated with so many of you. Here's an updated version..."
You now have 12 pillar pieces and 240 social posts. From 8 hours of creation per month.
The Reality Check
Most coaches create too much new content and burn out.
Smart coaches create less but distribute more. One great idea told 20 different ways reaches more people than 20 mediocre ideas told once.
The goal isn't to post more. It's to extract more value from what you're already creating.
Stop starting from zero every day. Build a system that multiplies your effort instead of draining it.
